A fatal collision occurred on December 8, 2023, involving three vehicles on US Highway 175, eight miles north of Jacksonville, Texas. Two individuals have been identified as casualties: 69-year-old David Blakeney, of Jacksonville, and 23-year-old Antonio Santana III, of Little Elm.
Both were fatally injured and were pronounced dead at the scene. The multi-vehicle accident involved a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado, a 2022 Honda Accord carrying passengers Jazmin Macias and 1-year-old Evelyn Santana, and a 2022 Toyota Corolla with driver Kimberly Wilkins and passengers Kenton Holman, Zuhniwy Arrendando, and Joaquin Wilkins.
The preliminary investigation suggests that the Chevrolet veered into the south lane, colliding with the Honda and Toyota. Six others sustained injuries and were transported to local hospitals. The investigation of this fatal crash, led by Trooper L. Sullivan of DPS Tyler, is ongoing.
