The San Diego Police Department reported a motor vehicle accident on Sunday morning. The accident occurred in the No. 1 lane, in the 8400 block of West Hills Parkway at around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
According to the officials, two vehicles were involved in the collision. A Harley-Davidson was headed south on the No. 2 lane. A Honda, headed in the same direction, was switching lanes into the No. 2 lane. This was when it crashed into the back of the motorcycle.
The driver and the passenger on the motorcycle were critically injured and taken to a hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, the passenger succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead. The identity of the victim is not yet known at this time.
The authorities are still investigating the cause of the fatal crash. It is unknown whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.
