68-year-old woman injured after a two-vehicle accident in Grand Haven Township (Grand Haven, MI)

On Tuesday morning, a traffic accident injured a 68-year-old woman in Grand Haven Township.

The two-vehicle collision took place at the intersection of 144th Avenue and Silverbrook Drive in Grand Haven Township shortly after 7 a.m. The victim told the officers that she had been eastbound on Silverbook and pulled over at the intersection before proceeding. Just then, her vehicle pulled into the path of a 2006 Mazda driven by an 18-year-old Grand Haven Township woman.

On arrival, firefighters freed the Grand Haven woman from her car and transported her to North Ottawa Community Hospital with leg injuries. The younger driver remained uninjured. According to the officials, a Grand Haven Area school bus had been stopped for student pickup at the time of the accident. No students were injured, and the bus was not involved in the collision. NOCH EMS and Grand Haven Township firefighters provided help at the scene.

An investigation is continuing.
