According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a motor vehicle accident occurred in Jim Wells County on Wednesday.
The crash happened on the outside lane of Highway 281.
According to the investigators, a Frontliner truck tractor semi-trailer and 68-year-old Charles Edward were involved in the collision. Charles struck a yellow barrier and continued driving north against the concrete barrier and struck an electrical pole. According to the reports, the semi-trailer detached from the truck and rolled over onto its left side.
The officials stated that Charles suffered significant injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
There were no other people injured in the accident.
The accident is being investigated by the authorities. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident.
