The Texas Department of Public Safety reported a motor vehicle accident in Eastland County on February 2. The crash occurred around 10:30 p.m on Interstate 20, approximately 0.25 miles south of Eastland.
According to the preliminary crash report, Reginald Van Wilson, 67, of Fresno, California, was driving a semi-truck towing a trailer westbound on I-20. Wilson veered off the south side of the interstate, colliding with a guardrail, which resulted in his truck and trailer catching fire. Subsequently, Wilson crossed the center median into the eastbound lane, striking a concrete barrier that blocked both lanes. Despite rescue efforts, Wilson was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated by the authorities. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
