A tragedy unfolded on a Houston motorway as 67-year-old Maria Ambriz Reyes from Houston lost control of her grey Mitsubishi Endeavour while travelling southbound. The multi-vehicle accident involved a gold Chrysler 300 and a blue Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck.

Emergency responders transported Ambriz Reyes to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Centre, where she was sadly pronounced dead. Krystal Ann Sanchez, the Chrysler driver, was hospitalised, and subsequent medical assessments revealed impairment at the time of the accident.

Following consultations with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, Sanchez faces charges of driving while intoxicated in Harris County Criminal Court #5. The Dodge Ram 1500 driver emerged uninjured, while Houston police are actively investigating this fatal crash.
