According to the California Highway Patrol, a fatal crash took place on Wednesday in Auburn, where 1 person was killed.
Authorities stated that the collision occurred along Auburn Folsom Road, north of Morningside Drive.
At approximately 1 AM CHP officers responded to a vehicle crash scene. A preliminary investigation revealed that a Sacramento man was operating a 2004 blue Saturn, traveling south on Auburn Folsom Road at an unknown speed. The vehicle suddenly veered to the right, leaving the road.
The front of the vehicle then collided with a large boulder, causing it to overturn and ultimately come to rest on its right side. The driver was pronounced deceased at the accident site, and there were no passengers in the vehicle.
The motor vehicle accident continues to be investigated by the CHP.
