A tragic two-vehicle wreck claimed the life of a 66-year-old Tyler man late Thursday night on the north side of Tyler. The fatal crash occurred on East Northeast Loop 323 and North Broadway Avenue at around 11:24 p.m.
According to the officers, a Chevy Tahoe and a Dodge pickup were involved in the collision.
Tyler Police Lieutenant Lukas Neubauer confirmed that one person was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the victim is not yet known at this time.
Alcohol is suspected to have contributed to the crash, and investigators are awaiting a justice of the peace at the scene. The roadway is now open after clearance, but police continue their inquiry into the circumstances surrounding this fatal multi-vehicle accident.
