The Glendale Police Department reported a motor vehicle accident in the night. The crash happened at 43rd and Olive Avenue at around 9 p.m.
When officials arrived, they found a 66-year-old man. At the scene, the victim was pronounced dead. The name and identity of the victim have not been made public yet.
Police were notified by witnesses who claimed to have tracked down the alleged hit-and-run car, a white Chevrolet Malibu, obtained its license plate, and seen the driver exit the car to inspect the damage to his own car.
Christopher Allan, a 54-year-old driver, was taken into custody. According to the police, Allan’s pocket also contained cocaine. Allan was placed under arrest. He is charged with drug offences as well as fleeing the scene of a fatal crash.
