According to the California Highway Patrol, a fatal crash was reported on Monday night in Madera. Officials confirmed that one person died due to the hit-and-run accident.
Authorities stated that the collision occurred in the area of Tozer Street and Avenue 15. A 66-year-old was struck by a moving vehicle. The driver of the vehicle fled from the scene, leaving the injured man in the roadway.
The man was rushed to Valley Children’s Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Other insights pertaining to the collision are pending identification. The identity of the deceased person is yet to be determined.
The crash continues to be investigated by the CHP. it is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
