A tragic incident in Canton Township resulted in the death of a 65-year-old man, Wilburn Martin, on Thursday. Stark County Sheriff’s deputies reported that Martin was walking in the roadway on 13th St. NW when he was struck by a pick-up truck.

Despite the efforts of emergency responders, Martin succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The driver of the pick-up truck remained uninjured and cooperated with authorities.

Canton Township firefighters, the Stark County Metro Crash Team, and the Stark County Coroner’s office assisted at the scene. Stark County Sheriff deputies are continuing their investigation into the tragic fatal accident.
