The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office reported a motor vehicle accident in Redwood City on Friday. The accident occurred at Brewster Avenue at around 2:55 p.m.
According to the officials, a man and a train were involved in a collision. The man was hit by the train but the events leading up to this are not entirely clear at this time. No other people were injured.
The man was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The San Mateo County Coroner’s Office identified as 65-year-old Ronald Tinseth.
It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. No further information is available at the moment.
