A tragic hit-and-run collision in Rialto claimed the life of a bicyclist on Saturday evening.
The fatal crash occurred around 7 p.m. as the cyclist, identified as 65-year-old Leopoldo Padilla Mondragon from Laguna Hills, was travelling south on Riverside Avenue in the second lane near Santa Ana Avenue.
A Hyundai sedan struck the cyclist from behind, resulting in the bicyclist being fatally injured. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect vehicle, later located in Bloomington, led to the issuance of an arrest warrant for 46-year-old Santos Lopez-Rosales, a San Bernardino resident.
Authorities are actively seeking Lopez-Rosales, who remains at large following the hit-and-run accident. However, no alcohol or drugs were found at the scene.
