According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, a solo motor vehicle crash that occurred in Cocke County claimed the life of a 65-year-old on Tuesday.
Roughly at 8:00 a.m., Wells, traveling his vehicle eastbound on I-40, for unknown reasons, lost control of the vehicle, swerved off the road, and struck a cable barrier. The vehicle then fell into an embankment.
As a result, Wells was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. No further information is available at the moment.
