Louisiana State Police responded to a motor vehicle crash on LA Hwy 1054 in Kentwood.
The victim who died in the crash was identified as 64-year-old Steven Sanders.
A preliminary investigation revealed Sanders was driving his Ford F-150 westbound on LA Highway 1054. Sanders, who was unrestrained, veered off the roadway and struck a tree.
Sanders was pronounced dead at the scene.
A few hours later, LSP responded to a deadly crash near Pine Grove that claimed a life. Dathan Langlois, 20, of Zachary, was identified as the victim of the second crash.
Langlois was driving a Volkswagen Jetta east on LA Highway 16 when his car traveled off and struck a building. He was taken to the hospital, where he died later.
Both crashes remain under investigation.
