64-year-old Patrick Bass died of his injuries more than a week after a crash in Las Vegas (Las Vegas, NV)

A second person, identified as 64-year-old Patrick Bass, died of his injuries in the hospital more than a week after a traffic collision in southwest Las Vegas that authorities stated was caused by an impaired driver who ran a red light.

On Wednesday, authorities reported that 64-year-old Patrick Bass died from his injuries after more than a week in the hospital. He was the driver of an SUV that was hit by a sedan driven by a 43-year-old Las Vegas woman who drove through a red light just after 1 a.m. on Dec. 21.

The passenger in Bass’ vehicle, identified as 65-year-old Debbie Bass, succumbed to her injuries at a hospital shortly after the accident. It is unclear if the Basses were related. The driver of the sedan received moderate injuries and was treated at University Medical Center in Las Vegas. She was detained after she displayed signs of impairment. No other details are available.

An investigation is ongoing.
