According to the California Highway Patrol, a hit-and-run accident occurred in Irvine on Monday. The crash happened in the area of 170 Technology Drive at around 7:36 a.m.
According to the investigators, a Metrolink train and a 64-year-old were involved in the collision. The officials stated that the unknown pedestrian was standing on the wooden planks and was struck by a train.
A 64-year-old Michael Albert Mason was identified as the unknown pedestrian who suffered significant injuries and was pronounced dead.
According to the reports, it is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident. No additional information regarding the fatal crash was provided by the Deputies.
