64-Year-Old Jose Ortiz Died In A Car Crash In Marietta (Marietta, GA)

The Marietta Police Department is investigating a car crash that claimed a life. The crash happened on the northbound lanes of Cobb Parkway at around 1:24 p.m. on Monday. 

The victim was identified as 64-year-old Jose Ortiz, who died due to his injuries. 

According to the police, three others who were involved in the crash sustained severe injuries but are expected to survive. 

A preliminary investigation into the crash reveals an 18-year-old driver in a 2001 Honda Prelude was making a U-turn at the intersection when his car crossed in front of a 26-year-old driver in a 2021 GMC Sierra.

The truck was occupied by Ortiz and one other person. The crash remains under investigation.
