A tragic multi-vehicle accident occurred on Tuesday. A 63-year-old woman lost her life in a collision between her car and a train. For reasons under investigation, the victim stopped at a railroad crossing and was struck by an Amtrak train.

The fatal crash transpired around 10:40 a.m. at the crossing located at North Lewis Road and Upland Road. The Amtrak Pacific Surfliner train, heading southbound, collided with the stationary vehicle despite the conductor’s emergency braking efforts.
