The Ventura County Fire Department reported a motor vehicle accident in Camarillo that killed a 63-year-old woman on Tuesday. The accident occurred near the intersection of Upland and Somis roads at around 10:35 a.m.
According to the officials, a train and a vehicle were involved in a collision. An Amtrak train struck a vehicle that was stopped at the railway crossing. The female occupant was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The identity of the dead is not yet disclosed. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. No further information is available at the moment.
