The Police Department reported a motor vehicle crash in the afternoon.
The accident happened on Louisiana Highway 425, near Clayton at around 2:30 p.m.
The collision involved only one vehicle.
On a 2005 Honda motorcycle, Thomas W Pritchard, 63 of Vidalia was riding south on Louisiana Highway 425.
The motorcycle overturned after veering off the left side of the road for unknown reasons. Pritchard was ejected from the motorcycle by this action.
Pritchard, who was wearing a helmet, was fatally injured and passed away on the spot. Samples of toxicology were collected and sent in for examination.
It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident.
The fatal crash is still being investigated by officials.
