The Police Department reported a motor vehicle crash in Vancouver on Monday morning.
A Kia Sorento was trying to pass another car when it crashed into the barrier on the right side. This caused the car to flip onto the driver’s side. The driver was thrown from the vehicle.
The driver of the Kia, identified as 63-year-old Royce A. Kite, was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene.
The officials have confirmed that the cause of the accident was speed. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs have also played a role in this.
Kite was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
The fatal accident is still being investigated.
