A tragic incident occurred late Thursday night in San Antonio, resulting in the death of a 63-year-old man who was helping replace a motorist’s flat tire. Mauro Mendoza Santos was struck and killed in a multi-vehicle crash on the southbound lanes of Highway 281 near Hildebrand Avenue and Olmos Park.

The crash involved a silver Toyota 4Runner, a Red Ford F-350, a Black Dodge Dart, and a Black Mazda 5. Despite efforts by emergency responders, Santos was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Dodge Dart sustained injuries but is expected to recover. Authorities have determined that no charges will be filed as a result of the incident.
