The California Highway Patrol reported a motor vehicle accident in Lake Elsinore on Saturday afternoon. The accident had occurred on Interstate 15, just north of Railroad Canyon Road at around 2:30 a.m.
According to the officials, a motorcycle and a car were involved in a collision. A 2007 Yamaha V-Star was headed north on the highway when it was hit from the back by a vehicle.
The driver of the motorcycle was thrown off the vehicle and was fatally injured. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased victim is not yet known at this time.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. The other vehicle involved in the collision fled the scene.
