The Pasadena Police Department reported a hit-and-run accident on Friday. The accident occurred at Raymond Avenue and Penn Street at around 9:15 p.m.
According to the officials, two vehicles were involved in a collision. A Lincoln Navigator crashed into a Nissan Versa. The events leading up to the crash are not entirely clear at this time.
The driver and passenger present in the Nissan were fatally injured and were pronounced dead at the scene. The officials have since identified the victims as 63-year-old Antonio Mendoza-Hernandez and 33-year-old Veralice Yanira Membreno.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated by the officials. The occupants of the Lincoln had initially fled the scene and were later found and arrested.
