62-Year-Old Woman Killed In A Pedestrian Accident In Bakersfield (Bakersfield, CA)

A tragedy struck on Thursday afternoon as a 62-year-old woman from Chico lost her life in a fatal crash. Her Mercedes sedan veered off Bear Mountain Boulevard and plunged into a water-filled canal, as confirmed by the California Highway Patrol.

The woman, whose identity was not disclosed, was the sole occupant of the vehicle, according to officers. She was found fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene.  The CHP received notification of the incident at 4:51 p.m., discovering the submerged vehicle west of Interstate 5. 

The circumstances surrounding the fatal crash, including whether drugs or alcohol played a role, remain unclear. An investigation into the fatal crash is ongoing, with authorities working to determine the cause of the tragic pedestrian accident that claimed the life of the Chico resident.
