A fatal crash in Avondale has led to the closure of the Central and Western avenues intersection Monday morning. The incident occurred around 7:10 a.m. and involved a collision between a 62-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man.
The woman was critically injured and was rushed to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead. Her identity is not yet known at this time. The male driver remained uninjured.
The investigation is ongoing, and details about the multi-vehicle accident leading to the crash are yet to be determined. As detectives work to gather more information, the Central and Western avenues intersection is expected to remain closed throughout the morning, causing potential traffic disruptions in the area.
