According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a motor vehicle accident occurred in Wichita Falls on Sunday.
The crash happened in the 300 block of Central Freeway at around 5 a.m.
According to the reports, the driver of the pickup truck traveling southbound crashed into the Wichita River.
The driver was identified as 62-year-old Sammy Pierce who suffered significant injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Wichita Police are investigating whether drugs, alcohol, distracted driving, or speed played a factor in the crash.
Some portions of the 300 block of Central Freeway are blocked for further investigation.
No additional information regarding the fatal crash was provided.
