The Kern County Sheriff’s Office reported a multi-vehicle accident on Thursday. The accident occurred on Highline Road just before 2 p.m.
According to the officials, two vehicles were involved in the collision – a sedan and a semi-truck. Both vehicles collided but the events leading up to the crash are not yet known.
The driver of the sedan incurred fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. He has since been identified as 62-year-old Robert Duane Owen. There are no updates regarding the other driver available at this time.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
