The Fountain Valley Police Department reported a motor vehicle accident on Tuesday.
The accident occurred at the intersection of Los Coches Street and Sunn Avenue at around 4:30 a.m.
The officials reported that the victim was riding his bicycle down Sunn Avenue when he was hit by a gray Honda CRV.
The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. He was later identified as 62-year-old Phong Khuu.
The driver of the Honda remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation into the fatal accident.
The officials confirmed that he was driving under the influence.
The driver, identified as 43-year-old Scott McDonough, was later booked into the Orange County Jail.
He is set to appear before the court on November 16.
