According to the California Highway Patrol, a fatal crash was reported on Tuesday in Stockton. Officials confirmed that one person died due to the motor vehicle accident.

Authorities stated that the collision occurred south of Wilson Way, on Highway 99. The 62-year-old driver of a vehicle suddenly veered left and went up a dirt embankment. This resulted in the vehicle colliding with a concrete centre median.

The driver was ejected from the vehicle and was fatally injured. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck. Insights pertaining to the identity of the deceased motorist remain unknown.

The cause of the collision is yet to be determined. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. The crash continues to be investigated by the CHP.
