The Tucson Police Department reported a motor vehicle crash on Monday afternoon.
Andrew Martinez, 62, crashed into a white 2016 Isuzu NRR flatbed truck that was stopped at a red light. Martinez was operating a blue 1999 GMC Sonoma near South Pantano Parkway and East Golf Links Road at around 2:00 p.m.
At St. Joseph’s Hospital, Martinez passed away. The flatbed driver also received minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.
Martinez’s failure to slow down and control her speed to avoid a collision was a major contributing factor.
The fatal crash is being investigated by the officials. Additional information regarding the crash is not available currently.
