In a tragic two-vehicle crash in Milam County on Tuesday morning, 61-year-old Wayne Hoyt Todd from Thorndale lost his life. The multi-vehicle accident occurred on FM 486 near CR 436, where a garbage truck was stationary, picking up trash.
According to DPS, Todd failed to slow down, resulting in a collision with the back of the garbage truck. Unfortunately, Todd was fatally injured and was pronounced dead in the fatal crash, while the occupants of the garbage truck escaped injury.
The Texas DPS urges drivers to minimize distractions and stay alert to slow-moving or stationary vehicles to reduce the risk of traffic crashes. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
