According to the San Antonio Police Department, a fatal crash was reported on Sunday. Officials confirmed that one person died due to the motor vehicle accident.
Authorities stated that the collision occurred in the 2500 block of IH-37, near Steves Avenue. A southbound pickup truck lost control and swerved into a light pole. This resulted in the truck falling off the highway.
The driver was identified as 61-year-old Ricardo Garcia. Garcia was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck. Further, 31-year-old John Reyes was arrested for failure to stop and render aid.
Other information pertaining to the accident is yet to be determined. The crash continues to be investigated by the SAPD.
