A tragic pedestrian accident occurred near Tehachapi on Sunday morning, as a pedestrian lost their life after being struck by a vehicle. The accident occurred on the roadway of westbound State Route 58 to Tehachapi Boulevard at around 1:13 a.m.
The California Highway Patrol reported that a 61-year-old California City man, involved in a prior traffic collision, was standing on the road. A 23-year-old man driving a combination truck tractor was unable to avoid a collision with the pedestrian. The pedestrian was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the truck emerged without injuries. The victim’s identity has not yet been released, and investigations into the fatal crash are ongoing.
