The California Highway Patrol reported a motor vehicle accident in Sutter County on Saturday. The accident occurred on the on-ramp from Garden Highway to northbound Highway 99 just after 7 p.m.
According to the officials, a 2017 Ford Fusion was driving in the left lane when it crossed into the right lane. This put it directly into the path of a 2022 Ram 1500 pickup. The two vehicles crashed.
The driver of the Ford was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased victim is not yet known at this time.
The cause of the fatal crash is still bieng investigated at this time. The officials have reported that they suspect the victim to have been driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision.
