According to the Elk Grove Police Department, a fatal crash was reported on Thursday night in Elk Grove.
Officials confirmed that one person died due to the accident.
Authorities stated that the collision occurred on Sheldon Road between Waterman and Bradshaw roads.
A 60-year-old woman was walking in the roadway.
She was struck by a Lexus heading southbound.
The injured woman was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck.
The driver of the Lexus remained at the scene of the accident.
Speed, alcohol, or drugs are not believed to be factors that resulted in the collision.
The crash remains under investigation by the EGPD.
