60-year-old woman died after a pedestrian crash in Southfield (Southfield, MI)

On Tuesday morning, a 60-year-old woman lost her life after getting hit by a vehicle in Southfield.

A portion of Eight Mile Road in Southfield was blocked Tuesday morning following a fatal pedestrian accident. The preliminary reports showed that a 60-year-old Detroit woman was walking across a crosswalk at Lahser when a vehicle struck her. The reports further revealed that the vehicle pulled over after the accident and the driver tried to help.

On arrival, medics rushed the woman to a hospital where she later died of her injuries. The traffic light was green when the incident took place. Articles of clothing, including a hat, shoes, and a face mask were found near the location of the crash scene. The road has since reopened to traffic.

An investigation into the accident is continuing.
