On Thursday morning, a 60-year-old man suffered serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Puyallup.
As per the initial information, the auto-pedestrian crash took place at approximately 6 a.m. in the 2200 block of North Meridian Avenue near Valley Avenue Northeast. The early reports showed that the man was hit in the middle of a block. There were no indications of impairment in the driver. On arrival, paramedics took the victim to an area hospital with major injuries.
Parts of the roadway were closed Thursday morning as crews worked at the scene. Officials said that the closures will be in place for multiple hours. Motorists were asked to adopt alternate routes and expect traffic delays. No additional information has been provided by the authorities.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
