A Spokane Medical Examiner has now identified the victim in a previously reported motor-vehicle incident that took place near Rockford on Sunday at noon. According to the Washington State Patrol, the rollover accident unfolded on the westbound lane of State Route 278, specifically near mile marker 3. The driver of the vehicle has been identified as 60-year-old Jackie E. Thompson.
Reports indicate that Thompson had attempted to re-enter the roadway but inadvertently crossed both lanes, and veered off the north side of the road into a ditch. Subsequently, the vehicle penetrated a barbed wire fence and rolled over, tragically resulting in Thompson’s ejection. He did not survive.
No further information regarding this fatal crash has been made available at this time.
