60-Year-Old Harvey Broussard Killed In A Single-Vehicle Crash In St. Landry Parish (St. Landry Parish, LA)

Louisiana State Police Troop I is investigating a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 49 near Milepost 30 in St. Landry Parish that claimed a life on Friday morning. 

The victim was identified as 60-year-old Harvey Brousard of New Iberia. 

The preliminary investigation into the crash reveals Broussard was driving a 2022 Kenworth 18-wheeler on I-49 north. For unknown reasons, the tractor-trailer veered off the road and down an embankment. 

The 18-wheeler overturned several times, ejecting Broussard. 

According to TFC Thomas Gossen, spokesperson for Troop I, Broussard was unrestrained during the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A routine toxicology sample was obtained and sent for analysis. The crash remains under investigation.
