Late Saturday evening, a pedestrian, identified as 60-year-old Fernando Rodriguez Villanueva of Terrell, tragically lost his life in a collision with a vehicle, as reported by the Terrell Police Department.
The pedestrian accident occurred at approximately 10:05 p.m. in the 800 block of E. Moore Ave. According to witnesses, Villanueva was crossing E. Moore Ave. diagonally as eastbound traffic approached.
After a vehicle in the left lane honked its horn and slowed down, Villanueva moved to the right lane, where he was struck by a 2022 Nissan Kick driven by a 48-year-old Terrell resident.
Villanueva was critically injured and was rushed to Texas Health Kaufman for treatment. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The Terrell Police Department’s Advanced Crash Investigations Unit is conducting an inquiry into the fatal crash.
