The Washington State Patrol reported a multi-vehicle accident in Tacoma on Saturday. The accident occurred on State Route 509 near Alexander Avenue at 11:19 a.m.
According to the officials, two vehicles were involved in the collision – a 2021 Kia Forte and a white BMW SUV. The two vehicles crashed into each other. However, the events leading up to this are not yet known.
There were seven people present in the Kia and 2 present in the BMW. It is not known if the people present in the vehicles were wearing a seatbelt. 6 people were fatally injured and pronounced dead. One other person incurred critical injuries and was rushed to a hospital.
The identity of the deceased victims is not yet known at this time. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated.
