According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a multi-vehicle accident occurred in Houston on Monday.
The crash happened on Highway 59 involving a sedan, an SUV, a minivan, and 11 unknown people.
According to the reports, the driver of the minivan traveling southbound tried to overtake a vehicle in a no-passing zone.
The minivan crashed head-on into a northbound SUV, which was then rear-ended by a sedan.
Six unknown people suffered significant injuries and were pronounced dead following the collision.
The Houston Police Department did not reveal the identities and the names of the unknown deceased people.
The authorities have not disclosed if there were other people injured in the accident.
It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
