A tragedy unfolded near Oakland’s Uptown district as a hit-and-run accident claimed the life of a 59-year-old woman on Tuesday afternoon. The incident occurred around 12:56 p.m. on San Pablo Avenue, near the 2300 block.
The victim, an Oakland resident, was struck by a vehicle that fled the fatal crash. Despite the immediate response, she was pronounced dead as she was fatally injured. The identity of the woman is not yet known at this time.
The driver, last seen heading northbound on San Pablo, remains unidentified. Speed is suspected to have played a role in the crash, with investigations ongoing to determine any involvement of drugs or alcohol. Police offer a $10,000 reward for information leading to the apprehension of the driver.
