The Tucson Police Department reported a multi-vehicle accident on Saturday. The accident occurred near 22nd Street and Wilmot just after 1 a.m.
According to the officials, a Harley Davidson and a Ford Focus were involved in a collision. The motorcycle was headed east on 22nd Street in the median lane. It was then hit by the Ford.
The driver of the motorcycle was critically injured and rushed to a local hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The officials have since identified the victim as 59-year-old Manley Gilliland.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated at this time. The officials have reported that the driver of the Ford was found to have been driving under the influence. He was arrested.
