59-Year-Old Man Killed In A Fatal Hit-And-Run Crash In Sutter County (Sutter County, CA)

According to the California Highway Patrol, a fatal crash was reported on Saturday in Sutter County. Officials confirmed that one person died due to the hit-and-run accident.

Authorities stated that the collision occurred on Bear River Drive, west of Swetzer Road. A bicyclist was traveling eastbound when a car struck him.

The car was later found in a garage. The driver of the car was identified as Harpreet Singh Atwal. Atwal was arrested on suspicion of hit-and-run. 

The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck. His identity is not yet known at this time. 

The crash continues to be investigated by the CHP. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident. There are no other details available at this time.
