59-year-old man injured after being hit by a car in a Pontiac Street (Pontiac, MI)

On Wednesday evening, a 59-year-old man was injured after getting struck by a car while crossing a Pontiac street.

The preliminary reports showed that a 59-year-old Pontiac man was crossing Walton Boulevard, close to Price Street at about 6:45 p.m. when the auto-pedestrian collision took place. The reports also revealed that he was wearing dark clothing and was not in a crosswalk when got hit by the car.

The injured pedestrian was rushed through an ambulance to an area hospital. The extent of injuries sustained by the victim is not known at this time. A 56-year-old woman from Rochester Hills was the driver of the vehicle that hit the pedestrian. Alcohol was not believed to be a factor in the accident.

An investigation is ongoing.
