59-year-old man died after being hit by a car in Las Vegas (Las Vegas, NV)

On Saturday, a 59-year-old Las Vegas man lost his life after being hit by a vehicle while walking in a crosswalk.

As per the initial information, the authorities actively responded to the scene after getting reports of an auto-pedestrian accident at around 1 p.m. Saturday. Eyewitnesses informed police that a car driven by a 39-year-old man was stopped at an intersection’s red light. Witnesses said when the man was halfway through the crosswalk, the light turned green.

At that point of time, the pedestrian started to jog and tripped, falling onto the ground into the way of the car. The man was rushed to the hospital where he later died of his injuries. The identities of the victim and the involved driver remain undisclosed. No other details are available.

The incident remains under review.
