On late Monday night, a 59-year-old man lost his life after getting struck by a vehicle in Henderson.
As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian crash took place at around 10:30 p.m. in the area of Boulder Highway and Broadbent Boulevard. The early reports showed that a black Dodge Charger was heading northbound on Boulder highway when a 59-year-old man stepped into the path of the Charger and got hit. On arrival, emergency crews rushed the male pedestrian to Sunrise Trauma where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The Clark County Coroner’s Office will reveal the identity of the deceased after notifying the next of kin. Officials said that speed and impairment did not play a role on the part of the driver; however, it is unclear if the pedestrian was impaired at that time. Boulder Highway northbound was shut down at Galleria Driver for about two hours as crews worked at the scene. No other details are immediately available.
An investigation is ongoing.
